Holiday Pages

I managed to get a couple of holiday pages done in the last week. Of course the pictures are from 2006 and 2007, but hey it looks like I am finally getting some of the old events scrapped. The first is Hanukkah from 20006. It was Daniels first Hannukah and or first as a family. A very special night. I brayered white cardstock with blue and white and then wet over it with mesh & white paint. Then I altered some Hambly tree paper and some star paper that I can't remember. I also cut out strips of one of the sheets. I altered some Thickers. I rubbed them with ranger distressed, sprayed with some home made mist (perfect pearls & reinker) and then put some clear embossing powder on it. Then I outlined it messily with a dark blue marker. I also stitched a white flourish that I got from a fancy pants set. To alter the paper I used gesso and oil pastels. I also did a little gesso stamping and used a grunge board star that is covered with home made mist.

This is from my the first Kosher Thanksgiving I hosted for our extended family, we had about 16 people come and just a ton of eating restrictions, some were kosher, one was allergic to fish, another to garlic, another was a vegetarian. We worked so hard and I was so proud of 'my table'.

I altered the patterned paper with gesso, water colors, reinkers and mists. I also used a Ranger mask with red glimmer mist. I distressed the pictures and the title (again with a sprinkle of embossing powder on some inks and paints). I used the Tim Holtz's tape technique on the book page and used distress inks and a fancy pants stamp on the tag. I stamped the flower with perfect pearly ink and dry painted it. then I used some tinkering ink and embossing powder on the flower.

Gorgeous! And, perfect for the occasion. Did you have to have someone bring in special utensils? Or is your household kosher. Kudos on pulling it all off,...what fun!

Great job on getting those pages scrapped. You do a great job on multi-page layouts!
